We are fortunate to have a large herd of Wapiti on one of our Private Land hunting areas. Annually taking Bulls over 50 inches in the 340-500 SCI inch class.
Rocky Mountain Elk were introduced to New Zealand in 1905. Since then they have evolved into a unique herd producing both typical and non-typical heads.
The sheer mass and length of these antlers cannot be truly appreciated until you have your hands on one!
Our Wapiti hunts are 4×4 assisted Spot & Stalk and are a great rifle or bow hunt. Typically, we would see 5 or more Trophy Class Bulls per day.
The Bugle here is March-April. Bulls can be hunted from late February to early August.
